Announcing an Institute here at Sabot!

After visiting so many schools all around the world and learning so much from them, it seems time to add our voice to the conversation on education. This will be a chance for my co-teachers and I to share some of our practice, and what we've learned about constructivism and the Reggio Emilia approach in preschool and with older children up through third grade. Our Pedagogista Marty Gravett has worked hard to put together an exciting event. There will be a day to see the school in action, time to hear from Sabot teachers, have a studio experience with me and my colleagues, and listen to special guest speakers and facilitators. So if you're anywhere near Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A., I hope you'll join in!

Speakers and Facilitators will include:
Lella Gandini--US Liaison for the Dissemination of the Reggio Approach
David Kelly--Director of Curriculum and Pedagogy, Blue School, NYC
Pam Oken-Wright--nationally known Reggio speaker and consultant
Lynn Hill-- editor and author of numerous Reggio-inspired books
Debbie Lickey --former Sabot teacher and co-author of Starting With Their Strengths; Using the Project Approach in Early Childhood Special Education Tom Shields--Director of the Center for Leadership in Education, University of Richmond
Anna Golden--studio teacher  Faculty and Parents of Sabot at Stony Point
